The 2 oz. Matcha Shot
How to make matcha when you need a quick fix?
We have a matcha prep method for you.
There are a few tools that you will need
An electric milk frother/stir stick/etc.
A fine mesh sieve
Cup or mug (make sure high enough walls to prevent splash when mixing.)
* The sieve is optional, but sifting the matcha will break up any clumps in the powder and make a smoother drink overall. All matcha will eventually clump as it is exposed to air/humidity/etc.
Step by Step Instructions:
-
Heat water to boiling temperature and let cool (best method) or if using a customizable kettle, heat water to 176 degree Fahrenheit (80 degrees Celcius).
Let it cool for about 5 minutes from boiling — be sure kettle opened to allow cooling.
-
Measure out and sieve through the strainer 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of matcha into a cup or mug.
-
Pour 1/4 cup of cooled water into the cup.
-
Using electric electric frother/stirring stick, blend the matcha for 15 - 20 seconds until a nice crema forms on top.
-
This creates a delicious 2 oz. matcha shot. Serve it in something a little bigger to allow for crema on top!
Enjoy!
